3 Strikes

3 times in the last few months. That's how many times I've walked into an actual gear shop and made enquiries about specific bits of kit.

3 times I've had the "No, we don't have it but we can get it in for you. Leave your name and number and we'll call you when it comes in."

3 times I've heard nothing. Nada. F**k all.

3 times they could've had a sale but, for whatever reason, chose not to.

The Arab people have a saying; "Trick me once, shame on you. Trick me twice, shame on me." To that I'd add, "Trick me three times, then F**k you, pal. I'll do my shopping somewhere else."

Much has been said about the rise in internet retail and its' ability to kill off "bricks & mortar" outfits but sometimes the B&M boys do themselves no favours.

Fannies.

One of those wasn't Summits in Dunfermline was it?

Names have been omitted to protect the guilty, the apathetic and those who would rather sell cheap sh**e in bulk to clubs than quality kit to an individual.

I have an idea I know what one of these incidents is.
Sometimes the independants do themselves no favours.

The internet is smaller than it looks...

Lol - in an idle moment I clicked on "bastards" in the tag cloud. This particular wee lament about retailers brightened up my day no end.

:)

Rantin' is what the internet was made for, mostly as the Angry Man of OM :o)

The aforementioned Summits is gone btw. Shut last year. It was a crackin' wee shop for a long time, then seemed to lose its' way. Mountain Warehouse or nothing these days :o(
